65-FUL Interlaken - Harder
Technical specifications
Customer Harderbahn AG
Location Interlaken, Switzerland
Vertical rise 731.0 m
Inclined length 1,449.0 m
Speed 3.0 m/s
Capacity 400 p/h

The Harderbahn, which already featured an electric drive when the lift first opened in 1908, runs from Interlaken to Harder Kulm. Even that long ago, care was taken to preserve the natural landscape when planning the lift line. The route traces an arc to avoid having to cut a path through the forest.

Two completely new panorama carriers were installed to coincide with the lift’s centenary. These cabins are in the traditional red of the Harderbahn and offer passengers enhanced comfort as well as a fantastic view thanks to the panorama windows in the roof. In addition, the electric control system was upgraded in line with the new configuration.
