30-TGD Olympic Village
|Elevação vertical||690,0 m|
|Comprimento inclinado||3.196,0 m|
During the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, the 3S lift Olympic Village acted as a feeder to the Olympic village and the Olympic finish zone. This is an aerial ropeway installation with a difference. One of the requirements to be met by the region’s infrastructure was that the Olympic venues should be accessible for the athletes and their cars at all times. As the construction of an additional access road would have been complex and costly, this requirement was satisfied with the 3S Olympic Village. Doppelmayr designed the lift not only for passenger transport but also for carrying automobiles. In addition to the blue passenger cabins for up to 30 people, the lift has automobile cabins to take cars. The Olympic Village lift is the first 3S installation worldwide with two sections and through travel.
